Politics and Religion. We’re not supposed to talk about that, right? Wrong! We only say that nowadays because the loudest, most extreme voices have taken over the whole conversation. Jamal Watkins is SVP of Strategy and Advancement at the NAACP. Prior to NAACP, he held leadership positions with a number of organizations dedicated to community organizing and civil and human rights. In this discussion we explore important topics including how NAACP carried out its mission through the many challenges of 2020; how the Association is helping to protect against attacks on voting rights (fightingforourvote.org); and how to talk about race in a meaningful way without it dividing us immediately.
